The Future is Black

Mnemonic voyager Estrella Kuemanu dives into the past, going back to the 19th and 20th centuries in search of remnant clues to the future of humanity.

Estrella has names and identities whittled into her drivepack, but that was never any guarantee that the information extracted would be reliable, much less relevant. She is searching for the designer Bishop Valdez and his poet sister Nalani. Theory is they hold the key to what is coming.

But it's a mess back there that deep in the past, what with the weight of electronic time bearing down on you, and those crazy-ass people so much like her own, driven by passions and curses, dumb luck both good and bad, dreams for the living, dreams of the dead.

House of the Shark

Itʻs turn of the century Honolulu, and Bishop Valdez is juss trying to get along, as the saying goes. But things always seem to be on the verge of spectacularly unhinging when youʻre living one paycheck away from sleeping on the beach in Hawai'i nei.

Itʻs crazy season anyways. Serial killer on the loose, Rachel disappearing into libraries and books for days at a time writing her massive dissertation, his boss JB screaming and threatening apocalypse for petty shit that couldn't be helped, or that he didn't do, and the kids, Damien and Nalani, dropping out of school and turning feral.

And then thereʻs Kamahele, waiting in the wings, fixed on making another dive into synthetic seas. He saved Estrella once before down under, but now heʻs researching his own mission, looking for secrets buried deep. The proverbial clock is ticking, the stars are aligning, and something from the hole at the heart of the sky  may be on its way.

Scientist Alex Kahawai loses his family on the very day of First Contact. The firestorms that followed breed a dangerous era with totalitarian and fascist forces at work trying to take advantage of instability across the world, the oceans and in the solar system.

Alex must choose between power and exile, for corporate nations are on the move, and once again an armada has amassed off the southern shores, rattling armor, and threatening to weaponize.
